Peppermint Creams & Fondants


  • 2 cups icing sugar
  • third cup condensed milk
  • pinch of salt
  • peppermint essence
  • dates
  • almonds


  • Mix half icing sugar and milk with teaspoon peppermint essence and a few drops of green colouring into a firm paste
  • Take about a teaspoon of paste, roll in hands into little balls, put onto greased paper and press each ball with fork making it flat
  • Leave to set
  • With remainder of ingredients make into paste, following previous instructions
  • When formed into balls press into them dates or almonds
  • Leave to set
  • No cooking needed
