Ingredients
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3 extra large eggs
- 3 tablespoons boiling hot full cream milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 rounded teaspoon baking powder
Method:
- Sift flour and baking powder together
- Whip whites of eggs stiffly then gradually beat in the sugar
- Add yolks of eggs and vanilla essence
- Melt butter in the hot milk, then add flour, butter and milk mixture alternately to egg whites and sugar mixture
- Bake in two layer pans for about 18 to 20 minutes in 375° oven
