fudge recipe

  • 3 cups sugar to 1 tin condensed milk
  • ¼ lb.(125 g) butter
  • Fill condensed milk tin a third with water to rinse it out. Stir the water to rinse out properly
  • Vanilla essence


  • Bring all ingredients gradually to the boil, stirring occasionally
  • When boiling fast keep stirring all the while to prevent burning
  • This takes about ¾ hour
  • When fudge gets to a shiny stage or just leaves sides and bottom of pot when tipped on side, remove from heat and beat well
  • Put into greased pan to set and cut into squares
  • If cooked too long fudge will get sugary
